Professional teeth whitening, done properly.

Coffee, tea, red wine and time — teeth pick up stain. Professional whitening lifts it, and doing it in the chair gives us control over sensitivity and evenness, with your gums protected and the concentration adjusted to suit you.

ZOOM2 in-office whitening

ZOOM2 is a light-activated whitening system. The appointment takes about 90 minutes. We apply a professional-grade hydrogen peroxide gel to your teeth, activate it with a LED light, and repeat for three to four cycles. Most people see a noticeable change in a single visit, though how many shades you shift depends on what's causing the staining and where you're starting from. We protect your gums with a barrier before we start, and adjust the concentration if you're prone to sensitivity.

Take-home options

If you prefer a gradual approach — or want to maintain results after an in-office session — we make custom whitening trays from impressions of your teeth. You apply a lower-concentration gel at home for 30 to 60 minutes a day over one to two weeks. The trays last for years, so you can buy refill gel from us whenever you want a touch-up. Custom trays distribute the gel evenly and keep it off your gums, which means fewer sensitivity issues and more consistent results than generic strips from the drugstore.

What affects results

Whitening works best on natural tooth enamel. Crowns, veneers, and bonding won't change colour — if you have visible restorations, we'll discuss whether whitening makes sense before or after any planned dental work. Some staining (tetracycline, fluorosis) responds less predictably and may need veneers instead. We'll be straight about what to expect.

Sensitivity

Some patients experience mild sensitivity for a day or two after treatment — usually to cold drinks and air. We use desensitising agents during and after the procedure, and if you have a history of sensitive teeth, we'll adjust the protocol. Switching to a sensitivity toothpaste for two weeks before your appointment can also help. It's temporary and manageable.

Common questions

How long do whitening results last?+

It varies a lot with habits and diet — commonly somewhere in the range of a year or so after in-office whitening. Coffee, tea, and red wine accelerate re-staining. Occasional touch-ups with custom trays extend the results.

Is teeth whitening safe?+

Professional whitening is well-studied and the concentrations we use are regulated. Temporary sensitivity is the most common side effect. It isn't suitable for everyone, so we check your teeth and gums first and tell you if we think you shouldn't.

Can I whiten if I have sensitive teeth?+

Usually, yes — we adjust the concentration and use desensitising agents. Let us know about your sensitivity history at the start.
